The career week will raise awareness about the exciting career opportunities that exist right now in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). During a week of activities held in Toronto, Montreal and potentially other major cities in fall 2011, high school students, their parents, teachers, guidance counsellors, and the media will discover that ICT-related careers are no longer about routine programming, but about collaborating to find creative and innovative solutions to problems in all areas.
The career week will include a national contest, online and media/advertising campaign. We will invite career choosers and their parents to educational institutions that illustrate today’s exciting careers.
CCICT corporate members, as well as other organizations, already conduct ICT-related career activities for high school students. The festival will include many of these activities as special events. The Festival will culminate with a nationally synchronized event for students and parents. It will combine learning and information sharing with an Academy Awards type experience for contest entries and winners.
